Thanksgiving bread and winter plans

Dear Friends,

We went to the grocery for some basic items and inadvertently joined a crowd people preparing for Thanksgiving. We hope we’re not too late to send a quick note about where to find our sourdough and other products in time for the holiday!

Where to find our sourdough before Thanksgiving

Saturday 11/19, per our regular schedule - Lombardi’s Love Lane Market in Mattituck at 10am, Sang Lee Farms in Peconic at 9am, Southold General at 8am

+special delivery+ Wednesday 11/23 - Lombardi’s Love Lane Market in Mattituck at 10am, Sang Lee Farms in Peconic at 9am, Main Road Biscuit in Jamesport by preorder only (order now info@mainroadbiscuitco.com, 631 779-3463)

Most of these sellers carry our coffee products too, see our how to buy page for specifics.

We also have frozen items

The frozen sections of Sang Lee Farms and Eastport General Store are stocked with sourdough cinnamon rolls and sourdough pizza dough for pre and post-holiday entertaining.

East End Food Market in Riverhead reopens the Saturday after Thanksgiving

The Saturday after Thanksgiving 11/26, get ready for the re-opening of East End Food Institute’s winter farmers market in Riverhead! 139 Main Road, Riverhead, NY 11901. We’ll be there 9am-1pm throughout the winter season, offering our full menu of products. We’re excited to continue the new tradition of the winter market and to reconnect with customers and vendors we haven’t seen face to face for quite some time! We hope to see you there!

Lastly, since it is the season for leftovers, we wanted to re-share our instructions for how to freeze and reheat sourdough bread. The instructions refer to an unsliced loaf but they can work just as easily for sliced loaves by reducing the baking time.

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees (170 degrees celsius)

  • Put whole frozen loaf directly on the rack, no pan, for 40 minutes

  • Remove, slice and enjoy

Have a wonderful weekend and holiday week everyone! May all of your senses be nourished!

Warmly,

Ana and Brett
